he mentioned the reason we dont see guns in gun racks anymore.
I would think that the reason you don't see gun racks is because it is stupid to advertise your rifle/shotgun to everyone who can see your back window.

Well, one might think that, but I think that you are gravely underestimating the number of stupid people in the world.

Which won't do you a bit if good if someone walks into your classroom and starts shooting... JMO.
True as it applies to teachers. However as a parent while I'm at school picking my kids up, waiting in my vehicle I do not have to worry about having my weapon on school grounds now.

for a little money you can join US Carry Conceal Assoc. ( USCCA ) ..Magazine , insurance in case you need to use the insurance you CC ,and so on . And lots of info , and internet access to back issues of the magazine too . I joined last month , so I am still checking it out too.

In Va. I took an online class, filled out the paperwork, went to courthouse and paid fees. Two weeks later it arrived in the mail. Easypeasy.

Good point Jim.

Been a while since I had to think about picking up a kid at school.
That's true. You can carry concealed anywhere on school grounds until you enter the "Premises" which is any building. You can carry in the parking lot, on the sidewalks and up to the front door but if you intend on taking a step inside any school building you can't.

When my wife and I took our CC class it was always heavy on Conceal. As for church the instructor said to ask the Pastor, preacher etc and get permission. He said that most are in favor of it.

Georgia's bill passed yesterday and we expect that the Governor will sign it. (yay)

You have to be really careful, these days. People are still going to prison for justified shootings based on technicalities. Like one guy used reloaded ammo and the prosecuter convinced the jury that he had made that ammo specifically to kill ! The CC organizations are a good idea , they give you access to lawyers experienced with these cases. I've had mine for 9 yrs. rarely ever carry anymore , but ALWAYS have one in truck !

If you think you might need to protect yourself or your family, while at church, then carry your gun! Who cares what the Pastor/Preacher thinks about it. Do you get frisked at church? Im sure that if that one-in-ten-bazillion chance happens to you and you used your handgun at church, in protecting the lives of your family as well as your church family, not one single church member would frown upon you for carry a concealed weapon.

I have a friend who is a lawyer, he CC's daily in various courthouses! Glock 19 in a super tuck IWB holster.
