The batteries on the homemade wingers that I bought off somebody a couple years ago are not holding a charge very long anymore I'm wondering what type of replacement batteries I should get and where to get them from.

Take them to a Radio Shack, they would be able to tell you I bet.

I'm wondering how many volts your winger requires? Looks like you have 8 batteries in that pack & I suspect that means it's a 12 volt system (8*1.5v = 12v), but the individual cells are covered in green plastic.

You could use a volt meter or peel back the green plastic and see what's back there.

There are 8 batteries in there, I bet you are right about it being a 12 volt
Double check with a multimeter or peel away the wrapper to check.

You can find 12 volt batteries all over the place (no need for it to be identical). They come in all shapes and sizes, you just need to find one that will fit (you might even have an old 12 volt rechargeable drill that you could McGyver).
