"So Happy Together" was the first 45 I ever bought, but "Downtown" was my all-time favo(u)rite tune. Then again, Petula Clark also was Dame Vera Lynn's big rival - and cannae cotton to that. Now, how 'bout the correction at the end of this article - got your anthropomorphic pawprints all over it:wink:

Hey Crackerd: Hate to disillusion you, but this is totally not my area of expertise. Was too busy riding horses to spend much spare time doing anything else. But --- the first one I recall was Bing Crosby singing White Christmas! Surely you remember that classic? YNBB

We had that one but it was on a 78 not a 45.
