I have two blk labs that are in and out of the house. I have heard great things about the roomba in the past few years. Any roomba owners I am looking for suggestions on which model to buy. I have hardwood floors and would like to know your opinions on which model works best for dog hair.

Get a Neato Botvac. We've got two labs in and out and it is amazing. Best household item I've ever purchased!

Very worth it. If you decide to go up in model jump to the 880. The 770 doesn't have enough difference from the 650. You do have to clean out the brush and empty the container after it works throughout the house but it is well worth it. It does a great job navigating around corners, against the walls, under furniture and through chair legs. Transitions fine from hardwoods, to tile, to area rugs, to carpet. We love ours, or I should say my wife loves it and that makes me love it.

Edit: we have 4 dogs, so plenty of hair for it to pick up.

We did some research when looking for a robot vacuum. We decided on the Neato Robotics vac and love it. It does a much better job than I recall our previous Roomba doing. No regrets on this purchase.

Do you run it every day? We had a Roomba and it couldn't keep up. The tiny collection bin filled up after a few minutes and if we weren't there to empty it, that was the end of vacuuming.

I have two 800 series Roombas. I did a serious vacuum job prior to kicking them off. Yes mine run every day. The one downstairs at night while we sleep and the one upstairs during the day. I generally now have to empty them every other day. I love my roombas! And they have awesome customer service!

I have hardwood, carpet and laminate - it works on all flooring and area rugs.

How do these vacuums do with light rugs, or rugs with string (frill) edges?

Which model neato vac do you all use

I'll have to look at the model but my Neato is a pet one. It runs daily. Needs to be emptied daily. It covers a lot of the house and we have full-time 3 indoor dogs- sometimes more- and more that spend the night indoors. It's done fine with rugs with no fringe. I don't have fringed rugs so can't help you there.

Love our roomba, we have a lab and german shepherd in the house. I have it set up to run everyday while go to work and we clean it every night or every other night. Does good over the rugs, we do not have rugs with the strings. Only problem is the dogs have a habit of laying down in front of the receiver so it doesn't make it back to the dock to charge because my shepherd will just let it run into her and she will not move.

Sounds like we really need to look into getting one !

I'm waiting on the new Dyson version. Sales started in Japan but not available here yet.

I don't have a roomba but I just bought a new Riccar Retriever and love it . It has a permanent belt so you can pick up a sock or a throw rug pull it out and keep going. It's an upright with on board tools my house has never been cleaner
