A special thank you to the Judges, that took all precautions when setting up the tests in the heat. They did a wonderful job, and great tests. A great weekend, with rough conditions. And thank you to the great help, we are small in numbers, but get the job done. Also thank you to the contestants, we are glad you came, forget the 100+ degrees, and see you next year.

Just ot of curiosity, did any dogs have problems with the heat?

Jim Haller
I did hear that some were not looking very good when double staked ie: open and am.

I know that Paul Sletten used 250 bags of ice to keep the dogs cool over the three days, and rented an extra hotel room to bring them all in at night.

That young man really takes care of those dogs!

Cant speak for the other stakes, but there were no dogs in the Open that showed any signs of overheating.

Longest mark of either triple was 180 yds.,and the line to all three birds in the land triple went through some water.
Club provided dog drinking water in the holding blind and at the honor box as well as a wading pool filled with water behind the line. They also had two EZups behind the line so that both holding blinds were shaded.
We opted not to run a second series on friday afternoon that would have started at 4:30 in the worst heat of the day.
Overall a great job by the club to protect the dogs and make the handlers as comfortable as possible.

Your right Marv. I did hear that the club did an awesome job to protect the dogs, and so did the judges with the test design.
