Aye Mates,
As ye may recall, I had quite a bout with concurrent radiation and chemotherapy treatments earlier this year, a challenge to meself on both a physical and mental level to be sure. My treatments ended the day after St. Paddy's Day and the effects of both the radiation and chemo left me severely weakened, I had taken to drawing to keep me mind relieved of stress and in a positive place creatively, that being curtailed due to uncontrollable shaking of me hands due to the chemo treatments. T'was very frustrating to me as I could not draw a straight line any longer.
TRAD and I trained diligently and participated in several HT's throughout the spring / summer of 2015. As well, TRAD and I participated in a number of club / group training sessions and I am very thankful for the support of folks we received from across the retriever community and especially from my fellow club members at YWHRC. I have also received incredible notes of support from many here at RTF, those keeping me pushing through tough times. THANK YOU ALL.
I am back to training and hunting with retrievers at every opportunity I get. I am also back to drawing as with returning strength, the tremors from the chemo have ceased, that said I am sharing a glimpse of a recent work in progress I have titled TRAD - "OTTERLY INTRIGUED". The drawing was inspired by my observation of TRAD as he focused intensely on the antics of an otter swimming about in front of our blind as we duck hunted in mid October. The rendering is done in monochromatic pencil on acid free archival quality tan toned drawing paper. Not yet complete, I may add a remarque drawing of a small swimming otter in the lower left corner of the composition. I will then sign it and seal the image with a few coats of Grumbacher Final Fixative matte finish to prevent smudging and send it off for matting and framing.
TRAD - "OTTERLY INTRIGUED"
I saw me Doctor this past Thursday and am happy to report that his examination found me to be healing with no apparent signs of the beast. As the Thanksgiving holiday approaches, I have so much to be thankful for. Thank you to you all for your support and encouragement. I wish ye all a meaningful and Happy Thanksgiving. I will post the final drawing once completed.
