Why mix when both are good foods? No value added there...
The value add is providing the puppy with all the ingredients from both quality foods. He would miss some of the ingredients if one selected as the only food.

I have not heard of many people doing it, and wanted to make sure I was not missing something or could potentially causing more challenges.

What ingredients are you worried about missing out on?

the regular orijen puppy is 38/20 and that's what I feed pregnant and lactating dogs and to all my puppies.

I know several guys that use the regular Orijen puppy as an all stage food and trial their dogs with it.

I can understand the benefits in the Orijen Puppy, I do not think of that. Thank you - I am reading about it now.

I feed orijen LB puppy. No problems with it other than the cost. I agree, no need to mix.

Unless there's peer reviewed evidence supporting that combination, I don't see the need to reinvent the wheel. If you have a concern about one or more of the foods being used alone, talk to a vet, the breeder you got the pup from and a trainer in your area. My first vet had me switching foods (or wanted me) to switch foods almost every 5 days when my pup was sick. 5 days into being back on Purina Pro Plan Large Breed Puppy (which the breeder wanted her on) she was normal.

I would not feed that much protein. Look up puppy leg issues on this forum. Go with a LB puppy
I have to agree. Sometimes these pups all of a sudden start knuckling over and it happens over night. Pursuit is pretty potent. You don't have to feed 2 foods to make sure they "get everything." You should feed what the breeder feeds for at least a few weeks and then if you must switch foods, mix slowly for 2 weeks.
