Congratulations to Lance Mackey for his 2007 Iditarod victory!!!
He won the 1,000 mile Yukon Quest race AND the 1,150 mile Iditarod within 30 days of each other! He is the first musher to have ever done this. Incredible!!!!

And to top it all off he finished with 11 dogs that also all completed the Yukon Quest! He started with 13 out of his 16 dogs out that yukon quest team. He finished the Yukon Quest just 10 days before the start of the Iditarod!! Truly an amazing Feat.

Interesting thread.

What great dogs this fellow must have. Pack drive.

Do not know if I could handle the cold. After a hot dry summer here, the weather seems to be cooling down. I actually shivered the other night while outside. I laughed, it felt great.

I thgink the iditirod is forgotten by alot of people.It is truly an awesome feat by dogs and humans.I love watching documentaries on it.

It is truely hard to imagine any test of dogs and humans more severe than the Iditerod. I'm in complete awe of all those participants, especially the canine members.

But to then do something so unbelievable as what Lance Mackey and his team did is hard to comprehend. He and his dog team should have a monument erected in their name. They just defined the impossible.
