sorry to bring bad news, but pete and peg were in a serious accident this weekend in Va. on their way home from Georgia.

pete is banged and bruised up, but otherwise is ok. peg is in the ICU unit with a punctured lung, busted ribs and had her spleen removed.

the dogs were not hurt.

apparently, they were hit by someone running a red light. the impact was enough to spin the truck and travel trailer 180, and the trailer flipped.

please keep them in your thoughts today, and if you're the praying kind, remember them there. thanks-paul

Oh No!! I won't claim to know Pete well, but I've run under him in Master and the very first FT I went to a few years ago (just to see what they were), Pete spent a lot of time talking Goldens and FTs in general. He was very helpful.

Having been through exactly the same circumstance, I empathize.

Prayers Up-

Oh, goodness :( Please keep us posted....how awful...

Lots of get well wishes and prayers..

Judy

Prayers and well wishes sent. I'm very sorry that this happened.

:( What awful news. This is one of my worst nightmares. I'm sure they're relieved to know their dogs are ok and I'll be praying that they both are feeling better soon. Please keep us updated. I know we all feel the grief suffered by our retriever friends, near and far... Regardless of whether we know one another or not. Prayers are coming from Georgia for a quick recovery.

I am shocked. I hope both will pull through all right. My prayers go out to the both of them.

If I remember right someone at the Jacksonville trial said Pete had one of his dogs bit by a water moccasin while training near Madison, Florida.

I'm so sorry to hear about this accident. Will definitely keep them in my prayers!

Does Pete need anyone to care for his dogs while he's recuperating? I'm not far from VA and would be more than happy to help out!!! Not sure how many dogs they were traveling with, but I've got a 6 hole trailer as well as 2 crates in the back of the truck and can fit in 2 more back there (cap on bed of truck).

Vicky

Prayers for a complete and speedy recovery.

Oh, How awful. Pete and Peg are two wonderful people. I will keep them in my prayers.

I have never met the Plourdes, but I would like to wish them a rapid recovery.

In a related incident, my good friend Russ Lain was on his way from TX to CA Sunday night and rolled his truck and Airstream trailer in West Texas, totalling both. Fortunately Russ escaped with some bruises, and his dog, Ice was not with him. All his personal property was thrown all over the highway. I wish him well.

Oh, gosh! Just what he needed... I'm sure he's in a lot of pain right now. I'm going to shoot him an email, but I'm guessing his computer was on the highway, too... Please let him know his friends in Georgia are thinking of him. I'll pass the word along. Is his cell phone working?

-K

Kristie, last night he had just found his cell phone, but our conversation was short due to poor cell reception. I don't know about his computer. He will rent a U-Haul truck today and take his stuff to CA.

Ice is here with Karl Gunzer.
