Did you share this on FB?

I did also.. Hope they find her... This wasnt in 'gator country" was it?

Wish I had seen this earlier. Hunted that area this morning. Would have been on the lookout. Hopefully cold enough yesterday and today to keep the gators inactive. I'll try to find it on facebook and share it

I spoke with the owner this morning, dog is still missing. Apparently got turned around while retrieving a cripple in the strong winds on Friday and took off with a duck headed away from the blind. Was last seen running along a levee. For those not familiar, this area, like the rest of our part of the country, does have gators but being that we're in the biggest cold snap of the year it's not a concern. The area is pretty heavily hunted and there's a few houses not far away so we're hoping the dog will find a human who will do the right thing. The key is getting the word out so that folks know what they have when they do find her. Dog is not chipped so knowledge of the situation to as many folks frequenting the area is key.

TTL for the safe recovery!!!
Prayers were out in full force.

That is fantastic, now tell your friend to go microchip that dog!

Glad this dog was found, I had been following it on Facebook. I was in the same boat with my dog in Louisiana recently. I lost him on the return with a criple headed back to the boat. I thought he located me and let him beach early and never saw him again. That was Wednesday morning 1/3 around 9 and we finally tracked him down Saturday around lunch. Talk about a terrible feeling knowing your dog is out there in that marsh and you can't do anything about it. I took renting a helicopter but I got him tracked down and scooped up by my buddy who was waiting with the boat. That's a situation I never want to be in again.

Justin, a few years back my husband was hunting in a different pond than normal and our lab was coming back with bird. He beached it then took the path that looked like a nutria path. He was only lost one night, but in Alligator point on a warm day. Word went out to the local Ducks Unlimited, one of club members heard about and contacted his buddy that was Military search & rescue. He was able to get a Cessna up in the air the next morning and after about 45 min they found him chasing birds on the lake. Had several boats in the water and was able to get him quick. Biggest huddle was it was Super Bowl Sunday, right after 9/11 and no fly zone within 200 miles of the Super Dome in New Orleans. They had to fly less then 20 miles from the Dome, but being high ranked, the pilot new people and was able to get the plane in the air. The only cost to us was the fuel, it was 45.00. We expected to pay several thousand. So glad you found your pup.

Lol, I didn't make out as well financially but got the hound back so it was well worth it.

It would be nice if they would start incorporating GPS in to some of the current popular E-Collar models.
Works with Garmin's Astro or Alpha - https://buy.garmin.com/en-US/US/p/553790

As well Dogtra is just coming out with a new collar - "Pathfinder" which is advertised as map, track & train. Not up on their website yet .... probably introducing at the SHOT show next week.
