the time. The last two trips I have booked, however, have been a giant pain in the backside. Website giving me trouble both at home and work. I have now been on hold with them for 45 minutes and that is after being on hold for 28 minutes before being disconnected prior to this call. If I did not have a speaker phone I would have already hung up, but I am going to see this through and make a fuss about this crappy service.
Anyone else notice a difference with them lately. This is the first time I have ever had a problem with them

I have in the past. I switched to Orbitz and have never looked back.

Orbitz and/or Priceline will get my business from now on. After my initial post last night I was on HOLD for 60 minutes!! I left it on speaker phone while I did other things of course. When I finally got off hold they told me there was nothing they could do and that I would have to call back tomorrow!! Being that I was now on a mission I did call back today and spent a total of 15 more minutes on hold. Finally I talked to a “supervisor” who told me in a very thick Indian accent “I am berry sorry , but my hands are tied and I cannot do anything for you”. I enquired if they though it was an acceptable customer service practice to keep customers on hold for over an hour at a time in any business? He agreed that it was not, but that was simply they way it is and that I should accept that. Our company books 20-30 trips per year with them. They have lost our business.

I only do expedia.com , I have had horrible experiences with orbitz and travelocity. I have probably logged in around 200,000 air miles with expedia now with no issues

If anyone ever goes to someplace in South America, I would shop around at sites other than the usual travelocity or expedia. It has been other five years ago, but I flew to South America for less than $600 on a plane full of people paying $1100.

What have you all found is the benefit of travelocity or expedia?

I suppose if you travel frequently, it's a great way to keep everything consolidated. But I usually go there to get a gauge and then shop around the net and often find some of the best prices on the actual airline/hotel/car site or by searching on coupons/savings.

I also like cheaptickets.com and our local favorite here in Atlanta is clarkhoward.com (not a travel site, but local consumer guru who finds great deals).

I agree with Kristie.

Mrs Gooser does most of the arrainging, but she uses the "services" to get an idea of price or bagains, then uses those offers as a bargaining chip, and just calls the airlines, hotels and rental sevices and shops!
