I don't know any vets in Knoxville that are in the retriever game so no one to recommend going out of your way for. Most of the time I go to Pet Well Clinic which doesn't charge you a visit fee, you just pay for the vaccines you need unless you want the vet to conduct an exam as well. You just walk in, they don't take appointments but I don't think I've ever waited over ten minutes and I think there is one in Alcoa.

There are some really good specialty vets at UT and some in west Knoxville if you ever have a specific need.

Welcome to ET I have lived in this area all of my life. First of all we are blessed to have a fantastic Vet School at UT when/if you ever need speciality care. Also, one of the best canine ortho specialist practices here--Dr. Blackford. Let's hope you don't have to.

For routine care close to Alcoa, I suggest you check out Maryville Small Animal Medical Center. They are south of Maryville on Hwy 411. I used them for years and was very happy with them. The only reason I don't use them as I moved and needed someone closer. Good Luck!

Maryville Small Animal is good. We use Chilhowee Veterinary and have been well pleased. Between me and my father we have put over 30 working dogs through that place with no issues. Labs and Setters and no problems. As for any major issues UT Veterinary School is on campus in Knoxville and they cover any issues that could come up.
