Okay, I know this sounds weird, but here is the scenario......

Started my BLM on Zubrin on Friday afternoon..2 tablets with some cheese@ 3:30PM. Second dose, 2 tablets on Sat morning with his food...(thought I should get him on a morning dose). He was fine and active and playing normal all day Saturday. Saturday late afternoon, he and my other 3 dogs ate some red potatoes, raw out of the bag in the garage..... Each dog probably ate a total of 3 small potatoes each.
Sunday morning take all dogs for daily walk, BLM, vomits yellow liquid with grass, not much, just a small amount, 1 hour later feed all dogs and give dose of Zubrin. Put dogs in crate and neighbor lets them out a few hours later. BLM vomits lots....All food from morning feeding and a couple bisquits...dog then drinks copious amounts of water.......till neighbor has to pull him away from water bucket.....puts dog back in crate about 2 hours, come home...dog has vomited in crate Yellow/grass/water. Clean dog and crate and take dog in house...vomits copious amount of water/grass in kitchen...Clean up, now dog vomits small amounts of brownish/reddish liquid every couple hours till morning. Last problem @ 4AM....at 8am give small amount of rice and turkey, with small sips of water, dog keeps it down till I left for work @ 9:30AM. He is acting better and interested in the food.

I called my vet this AM and she said she has never had a dog with a problem with the Zubrin, She seems real annoyed and thinks it is something he ate...but the only thing he ate that was not normal was the potatoes on Saturday!

There is nothing else I know of that he had different from the other dogs other than the Zubrin? My biggest concern was the brownish color seemed like it might be diluted blood, there was no indication of food present. I have taken him off the Zubrin for now...anyone want to venture a guess???

The following comes from the zubrin website at http://www.zubrin.com:

If your dog is on NSAID therapy, you should look for the following signs:

* Decrease or increase in appetite
* Vomiting
* Change in bowel movements (such as diarrhea, or black, tarry, or bloody stools)
* Change in behavior (such as decreased or increased activity level, incoordination, seizure, or aggression)
* Yellowing of gums, skin, or whites of the eyes (jaundice)
* Change in drinking habits (frequency or amount consumed)
* Change in urination habits (frequency, color, or smell)
* Change in skin (redness, scabs, or scratching)

Observing any of these signs could mean your dog may be having a problem with the NSAID he is taking, or that your dog might have a condition that makes him more susceptible to NSAID-related problems.

It is important to stop therapy and contact your veterinarian immediately if you think your dog has a medical problem or side effect from therapy with any NSAID, including Zubrin®. Do not ignore a potential side effect. Most side effects are transient and resolve completely if treatment with the NSAID is discontinued early.
Sounds to me like they would consider your symptoms to be potentially serious and certainly worth evaluating.

i have 2 retired ft dogs, each on a different med because of adverse reaction. one cannot take duramaxx because he threw up everything within a day of starting the med. the other cannot take etogesic as he had blood in his urine right away following the med. you really have to watch your dogs when giving these meds, there are so many kinds and each dog is different regarding tolerance.
