Need help finding a hotel in Dallas - GDG

I'm looking for a hotel room in the Dallas area. The VA hospital is not exactlly in the best part of town so we do not want to stay right there, but within a reasonable driving distance (20-30 miles). We also do not want to have to ake a 2nd mortgage out. Anyone got any recommendations?

try hotels.com they are located in Dallas. Maybe the swishy one has some input.

You flying in? If so, what airport? What part of Dallas would you like to stay in?

there's a good part to dallas,

the hotel at DFW was nice at 1 time but maybe kinda ritzy

I'm flying into DFW, will rent a car, stay in Bonham 2 nights, then pick my sister up at the airpport on Sunday evening and stay in the Dallas area.

I checked out hotels.com and travelocity.com - I was looking more for the yeah I've been there and it's a decent hotel kind of advice.....

The VA hospital in on Lancaster Rd (just off of Loop 12) between I-45 and I-35E - so easy access to either highway would be good.

Sorry, I can't help. I always fly into Love(I love Southwest). Holiday Inn Select and Candlewood are nice there, but that's not by you, so sorry.

Ummm, haven't totally decided - I want to leave Friday afternoon (29th) but I have no idea how long it will take for me to outprocess on my last day with my current company - other wise on Saturday morning, I'll have to gamble that the DOW will be nice to me, that will put me at Mark's at 11:00 - 11:30am.....

You have a deeper check book as compared to me! :shock: Even with priceline I don't think I could get it for what I'd like....

Lainee,,,, try kayak.com. I go there alot too to find cheap hotels in big cities.

In case you didn't know it ... There is a VA hospital in Bonham. They offer FREE shuttle service back and forth to the Dallas facility. You might look into that.
