I saw that a couple of the dogs had little creepy crawlies in the poop today. I am thinking it is tape worm. They are about a half inch long and kind of flat looking. Anything I can get without going to the vet?? Any help would be appreciated.

Yup,those are tapes...
If you can get Panacur at hte feed store,that kills tapes.Otherwise, you'll have to go with Droncit-from the vet. Effective,but they are usually gotten from fleas, so if theres an issue with those guys,too, work on that or they'll be back in a hurry.

All the major species or just one?
I had to get on line not long ago as 2 of mine have gotten them this season (wierd-- never had any in my dogs in 16 yrs-- I figure it's rabbit and rabbit doo). Anyhow, Praziquantal is what I kept coming up with as it gets several of the species of tapes. I bought enough "D-Worm" for 6 dogs thru Omaha Vaccine for ~$35. I got Drontal Plus for the first dog thru my vet and that alone cost $35! I didn't need the other stuff in it... just the prazi!

Have never had fleas but there are a ton of rabbits this year. Probably from that.

We use drontol every 6 months... never have a problem. It kills tapes, flat, even whips ... You need an RX in the US but they will ship it from Canadian pharmacies. Most vets if you have a good relationship with them will sell a few months worth but its cheaper to just buy it from Canada.

Look for tapeworm meds with Praziquantal usually available at feed stores. If you can't find them D-worm or:

Stopped at vet today and he gave me Cestex. $18 for 4 pills.
