My husband's field trial companion passed away suddenly on Saturday. I want to pay tribute to our "ben" by ordering shells to be scattered in his memory

I need to know what size shells are typically used by birdhunters in the field. Can someone please help me? choices 16, 20, 12. I appreciate you letting me know if I need to ask my husband about this before ordering. Feel free to pm

I am hoping to organize a small group of his friends to pay tribute at NAGD championship in Feb 09' for which Ben was qualified.

Sorry to hear of the loss. You can double check the gauge by looking on a box of your husband's ammo, or the guage will be stamped on your husband's most used shotgun.

My husband always said that he would do this upon Ben's passing. -

By the time I could get to work yesterday, his friends had already arranged for 7 of them to get together and pay tribute to Ben...

Ben was a GSP but we will do this in memory of every dog that loved doing what they were naturally bred to do - competitive or not.

The site will be Lavergne TN in Feb- our local club's "home field". We have watched many incredible dogs run there - labs and others...

This was a few of Ben's accomplishments: All owner handled
Best In Show Puppy - Memphis TN
1st Place Field Trial Class - Indiana regional GSP Show
3rd Place Field Trial Class - GSPCA National Specialty Ft Mitchell KY
3rd Place Futurity - GSPCA Nationals Riverside CA
Multiple Field Trial placements - open and amateur Gun Dog Stakes
Qualified x2 National Amateur Walking Gun Dog Championship
3 legs SH Title

Ben was a REAL birddog and we will miss him forever...
