This evening a young lady that has been a very hard worker in our club and in training her dog. Had to make a very hard decision.

Her dog was suffering from siezures and liver failure(I don't know all the details). they had to allow the vet to put the dog down to end the suffering of him.

Yuck. 2 years ago we had to put down our yellow lab because of her seizures. My prayers go out to them both. Watching a dog suffer with siezures is really, really hard to get through. That last deep breath at the vet made me know we did the right thing. She was no longer suffering. I pray that Kaylin knows how much her dog loved her and appreciated her.

Poor kid. It's hard enough after a long life to let them go, but to lose the promising ones when they are so young never seems fair. I hope all the folks who knew Gus help her realize she did the last, best thing for him. With no disrespect to Gus-& when/if she's ever ready-if getting another dog may be a hardship for her-I bet a lot of us would be willing to help.

Godspeed Gus-

So sorry to hear about Gus. It was an honor to be part of the judging team that judged Gus and Kaylin the day they earned his AKC JH titled. Gus and Kaylin...what a great young team! I was really looking forward to seeing them step up to the next testing level. Brian, I know you gave the Gus pup to Kaylin and got her started out on the right foot. I hope you can do the same and hook Kaylin up with another fine pup, just like her Gus was. Please let my little buddy know that my prayers and thoughts are with her.

Having been there myself, being young and putting down a young dog, I certainly feel for her. And I applaud you for stepping up to help her out. My thoughts and prayers are with her, I hope she remembers those great times with Gus to get her through and a new puppy to ease the pain and lick away the tears,

Brian,

Please give Kaylin a Hug for us and let her know we are thinking about her. Like Bob stated, it was such a pleasure to watch that team. I still have the pictue that I took of them together at Boothill. We hated that we did not get a chance to see her this year. Give her our love.

Melissa,
Get me a copy of that pic if you don't care. I'm sure Kaylin would like it. Let me know whatever costs are.

To help ease her pain we have her a dog for her to try. Some guy give her his prize little 13 month old derby hopeful, if she likes the pup its hers.
