Just wanted to introduce myself. I am new to the forum and new to dogs. I am in the research stage at this time learning what I can about labs and raising them. I look forward to gaining info, from this site.

Anyone here from the Mid-Atlantic Region? Also do you know of local training groups or local breeders?

Welcome to RTF River Hill. Chris Glatz copied the Northern Piedmont Retriever Club's website in the post above. I'm president of the club. We are a NAHRA (North American Hunting Retriever Club) based club and train in the south central part of PA and north central Maryland. (Approximately 100 miles radius around Gettysburg).

We have a huge amount of experience in our club. Let me know if you're interested in joining us some time. We generally have club training sessions on the second Sunday of the month.

Hi River Hill, just thought I should add something more about Northern Piedmont Retriever Club than just the link (posted above). I am a member of Navesink Hunting Retriever Club and the NPRC is our "sister" club in PA/MD. I've had the chance to meet a lot of NPRC's membrs and were I closer I would definitely belong to that club. They have a very large number of "Master Hunters" in that group and they have a lot of involved people - to me it means that they are doing somethig right. I'm sure you'll find out its worth the drive to take Mike up on the offer to come and visit. You won't be sorry. Good training.
