all of the above and none of the above......I would say the marshals, grounds committee, bird throwers..JMHO

GOOD POINT !! Very impressive field in all the stakes, so i will change my answer to the Amateur since they have two days

I think it's the amateur judges . To judge 95 dogs in 2 days , tough as it gets ! Just to get the first series done in 1 day will be their biggest challenge . That would be my goal !

Good luck to all judges !

After judging many minor stakes I would say they have it the worst....typically they get the "leftover" grounds, whatever the majors don't want, fewer bodies for help, especially as you work later into the weekend, wait for the Pros and Am's that are told to stay at the major stakes, and have to pick up, move and set up for 8 series. It's a tough weekend for all!

You have to feel for the Am judges -- 95 dogs in two days.

First blush would be for the minor stake judges until who you see who it is judging -- Mitch and Judy. You KNOW they can pull it off, and pull it off well.

Open could roll over into Monday, and with that many dogs it should. The Am. should start on Friday and there should be two sets of Minor stakes judges one starting on Friday and one on Sat, with an early start for each.
25k buys a lot of help regards.

Sounds pretty darn good ! Lets see here , all expense paid trip to the great state of Texas , loding , meals , plenty of entertainment , and seeing some of the finest retrievers in the world (lots and lots of em) and to top it of we'll even throw in a $50 gift certificate ! But you better hurry cause offers like these don't last long .
I give all involved in this trial a lot of credit , you all truly love these dogs !

Amateur judges, will be waiting on the owners to get their dogs back from the Pro's and come do their thing.

I feel for the Marshalls.

I think that I'm gonna have the toughest job!!!!

gonna have about 1/2 truck load of "My Wimmenz" there and I'm not sure I'm still up to the task.

Might be lookin for an Assistant.

The Minor Stake judges. Since they are the lowest priority of getting handlers to the line in a trial with a high dog/handler ratio they will most likely have periods of no available dogs.
In addition most minor stakes judges(more so than AA ) want to carry young dogs as long as possible but time will probably not allowed them judge the way they would like.

I believe it was 2005 the spring Chesapeake trial in CA. had similar entries (316 dogs) The Open had about 10 or 15 less same in Am and the minors totaled 100. The AM started Fri. though. The minor stakes used one set of judges also if my memory is correct. It when very smoothly and I remember pulling out at around 3 or 4 on Sunday. This question though I would have to say the AM because they really need to hit a home-run in the first series. If you start with a double it may look very hard but sometimes just doesn't work, I wish them the best, their job IMO is the toughest.

Who wants to judge it next year!
only someone who was not aware of the size of this year's entry or a psychotic masochist

having judged too many 90 dog 2 day Amateurs and 100+ dog 3 day Opens I would much prefer having a wisdom tooth extracted without anesthesia
