Several of my dogs have had definite personality traits and attitudes that would bring to mind a certain song. My first retriever "Amy" was actually named for the song "Once In Love with Amy" but I think her song was "My Way" by Frank Sinatra, because she always did everything her way. My next dog was "Dare" and her song was "Born to be Wild", which fit her perfectly. I am still trying to think of what songs fit my current crew.

What about your dogs?

"Your Cheatin' Heart"

That's for our Long Tall Sally (BLF) who is 8 mo. old.

Port Costas Chantilly Lace is my young girls registered name. The song by the "Big Bopper" gets new words to it every time we train. Something like this - Chantilly Lace , has a cute red face, a fluffy tail, spinnin' round.......

Honeywood Rising Star is our big girl and reminds me of the song....When I wish upon a Star!!!! Trust me, we make a lot of wishes everytime we run!!! (That's her in my avatar)

"You Ain't Nothin' but a Hound Dog!"

I mean, his name is Elvis!!

My first Lab has his own song I made up for him and started singing to him because of course I thought he was the most fabulous creature on earth, but no one else gets to hear it. Even going on 11, he still gets excited about it, but now being a jaded old dog person, I'm too embarrassed to sing it for him often. Though maybe I should have sung it in the holding blind a time or two, might have distracted him from trying to dismantle it.

Boom Boom - John Lee Hooker

Last year my pro and his bird boy would sing it every time Boomer came to the line. They changed most of the words though. Sometimes I hear them singing it in the gallery or holding blind when I'm at the line. Boom boom boom boom.

OMG, I do that too...

One for my dog Emmie is to theme of Love Boat.

Our song for Diva is to a circus theme...

One for our oldest dog, Woodie (13) is to a Da Brat rap song from the 90's where she says "baby, babbbbbeeeeeehhhhhh" and he still goes nuts.

And I often sing "you are my sunshine" to them in the airing yard and they LOVE it (probably because I sound like one of them).

Dogs LOVE it when you sing to them. So funny....

Well Fisher is Hard Day's Knight so, he came built-in with his own song. But please to not tell any of his macho buddies that I also sing the Sleeping Beauty song to him :)
The only other dog I've had that had a definite theme song was our rescue flat-coat Maguire, his song was Ghetto Supastar!

After my dog chewed off a halo collar and her cast, then ran thru barbwire(I think on purpose), and enjoys an ecollar correction at the highest setting. She seems to enjoy pain.

So each time she shows shes crazy the Buckcherry song "Crazy B**** song comes to mind.

My lab does not have what it takes to play the game but I have had fun so I think my song line for him would be "Wasted days and Wasted nights"

Hot Blooded - Foreigner. It is a struggle for me as she is just on verge of too much to handle for a novice trainer like me. But man, I love to watch her fly off the line with the after burners fully engaged.
