Hi All,

I've been hanging around the site for awhile now as I made several attempts at finding a new, yet to be born pup since early January. But after four failed attempts due to one pup litters and false pregnancies I found a living, breathing pup to take home. Her name is Jet (Realwood's Private Jet). She comes from Jason Heffelmeir's Contender Retrievers in Iowa, with a good deal of help from Kelli Corcoran at Great Expectations Retrievers in Houston to find her way to Denver. Thanks to both for their help.

She is my fourth Lab over many years that have all been great hunting companions, but she's the first one I intend to run in hunt tests so let the learning begin. She's from Jazztime's Frequent Flyer on the Sire side http://www.jazztimelabs.com/
and Grindstone Molly Murphy on the Dam side http://www.contender-retrievers.com/We are having a great time letting her be a puppy but she will find her way to Chris Jobman at Flatlander Kennels in a few months.

Anyway, I am enjoying the site and appreciate the interest everyone seems to have in helping everyone else so I hope to return the favors moving forward.

Thanks and here are a couple of pics:

Welcome and good looking pup. I understand where you are coming from. I was low priority on the first litter, false pregnancy on the second, and finally ended up with a pup from a one pup litter.

Welcome to RTF. We own a half sister to your pup. She is by FC Riparian Windfall and out of Grindstone Molly Murphy. She is a fun dog to train and is the kids best buddy. Great all around dog.

Good luck with your pup! She's a cutie!

There are HT people who train at Chatfield State Park at the DOW Planting Base directly below the dam. Chris is a good choice for HT training.

Thanks to everyone. Losthwy, if you happen to have any info on the club that trains at Chatfield that would be great to know. I've met some of the Platte Valley Hunting Retriever Club folks and they train up north a bit so Chatfield would be a great option for me.

Thanks.

Welcome! The first pic is the best, she is so proud!:)

What a beauty! Lovely face, and fat tail -cute stuff.:)
Good Luck with her..

Jet is a nice lookin' pup! You can't go wrong with Chris. He's one hell of a trainer and a nice person. I have one dog with him now and soon a little BLF puppy (FC AFC "Blue" X GRHRCH "Abby") that will be there as soon as get back from overseas (62 days!).
I hope your 62 days flys by and you can spend some time with those dogs. I obviously have a ways to go before we get to Chris but I'm not rushing it, nor are my wife and daughter all that anxious to send her off. Let's of fun in the meantime.

Travel safe.

Gooser has been known to be spotted at Chatfield from time to time!!:p

Ya picked a great guy to send that pup to. Though Mr. Jobman will prolly tell Ya to keep a fair distance away from Gooser!!:) He wont want the "BAD" habbits to start!! (I've completed the 26 "step" program!! Thats a 13 step done twice!!)

The Platte Valley bunch are a good bunch a folks!! Theys just have a hard time gettin used to Goosers methods!

Are you interested in HRC tests or AKC hunt tests??

Thanks Gooser, I have always been one to learn lessons the hard way - first hand, so we'll just have to get together and see how it works out!

Sorry, I missed answering the HRC vs. AKC question. The real answer is that I don't know where I should start. It seems like Chris is most accomplished or focused on the HRC circuit.

I welcome anyone's input on that topic - which comes first? The Chicken or the Egg? HRC or AKC?

Thanks
