Got up this morning and fed the 2 house dogs (Trio & Grace) about 6:30 a.m.. All was well at that point. Since it was raining, the girls and I climbed back into bed until about 9 a.m..

This is what Grace looked like at that time!!

Off to the vet's we immediately went. We think she may have gotten bitten by a spider and had a reaction. You can bet that I'm changing the sheets/pillow cases on my bed!!!

Vet prescribed antibiotics, Gentocin spray, Benedryl & Rimadyl. Since her temperture was also elevated, we have to keep an eye on that also. If she gets any worse, it's back to the vet before 7 p.m. or the ER after that.

Please keep my girl in your thoughts and prayers!!

Oh that's ugly! Did the vet think she got multiple bites, or are all the sores part of the reaction? I hope Gracie gets better quick, she really looks miserable.

Man that looks painful! Hope she heals quickly!

Oh My!! Whatever was in your bed, I would do more than change the sheets! The poor dog, hope the drugs work quickly. Too many prayers needing to be said these days for our dogs, but I will add mine for Grace.

It's too hard to tell if it was one bite or multiple bites.

I'm hoping that whatever bit her did so when she went out to air or perhaps before she got back into bed with me. That would seem possible since neither I, Will or Trio got bitten. I've stripped the bed and gone over the mattress carefully. Haven't found anything :(

Check for those little ground hornets-nasty little buggars will do a lot of damage faast. Steve Bernock and I got nailed by them at FVRC HT. They can move in quickly to new hole in the ground.

OUCH!! Looks like she stuck her nose somewhere where she shouldn't have. Hope she's better soon.

Half sister Bam sends get well soon wishes too.

Looks like she got in a bar fight ;)

Prayers for a speedy recovery! She is lucky to have you as her care giver!

Poor baby.... :( hope she feels better soon....

OK!!!
This has gots to stop!!!!

No more sick, hurt dogs!!!!

I may decide to go out on the Patio, in "special attire" and do the Protection Dance to the dog gods!!

Get well Gracie!! Yer face looks worse than mine, when I was married to my first wife!! Take care girl!!! Big hug from Me!!

Jim,
No fire ants in Maryland...at least not that I am aware of!

Kristie,
She's pretty wiped out. I guess the Benedryl is doing that. Her temp is down. The swelling around the eyes has diminished some, but not around the muzzle at all.

Horrible time for this to happen. I have to be out of town, leaving in the morning and won't get home until Sunday evening. Will is going to be here taking care of things. I've typed out a table so he can check off each time he gives her the medications. He's more than capable of taking care of Grace, but I sure wish I was going to be here. :(

Thanks to all for your good thoughts and prayers for our girl!!

When you "adorn" the "special attire", you'd better make sure Diane takes a picture and post it on RTF!!!! ROFL

How sure are you those are bites? Could she be allergic to laundry soap on the sheets?
Either way, I hope she's feeling and looking better soon.

Nasty! Hope things continue to improve!
