My son Waco was involved in a motorcycle accident late yesterday in Oklahoma City. A young girl ran a stoplight and hit him. Her car is totaled so you can imagine the speed she was traveling at impact.
His left leg is shattered in many places below the knee, his heel is torn off, his left hip is fractured at the acetabulum, and he has road rash over his body along with cuts and abrasions on his head. Fortunately, his CT scan was good, and he has no brain injury even though he doesn't wear a helmet or no internal injuries. He landed beside the railroad tracks in some grass instead of landing on the pavement which probably prevented a serious brain injury on top of everything else.
He was out of surgery at midnight. A team of orthopedic doctor's have done their best to repair the leg and foot, but it's very serious.
Please keep Waco in your prayers. I am going to try to get a couple of hours sleep tonight, and then back to the hospital early in the a.m.

I'm sure he'll be fine. As someone who has been there done that-tell him when things get rough in the hospital- picture being in one of his favorite places doing what he loves to do. It makes a difference in getting you through!
