so sorry, prayers for a speedy recovery!

He has a few ANGELS watching over him..

Two young people were killed recently in my area.. one young man was 23, and died in a motorcycle accident,
the other was 42, and lost his life in an ATV accident. I know that his brother was killed in an accident over 10 years ago. my heart aches for that mom, she has now lost both her sons. He leaves behind a wife and teenage son..

Terrie and Family,
You are in our Prayers. We are praying for Waco's healing.

Terrie, so sorry to hear about Waco - prayers and well wishes heading your son and your way. Hang in there!

Prayers Way Up for Waco. As a Mom, I know you'd change places with him rather than have him go through this. It's amazing what you can recover from and youth is in his favor! :) I'm sure he'll be fine. As someone who has been there done that-tell him when things get rough in the hospital- picture being in one of his favorite places doing what he loves to do. It makes a difference in getting you through!

Hope he's home soon!

Just a quick update:

Waco's second surgery on his leg took place today. He left for surgery at 7:30 a.m. and came back from recovery at 3 p.m, but the staff was very good about keeping us informed through the surgery of the status, although we were very anxious at the length of time he was in surgery. The orthopedic team only repaired two of the fractures. If those heal as planned, he will be facing the third surgery in 5-10 days on other broken bones in the leg.

Miriam, I will give him the hint about thinking of a favorite place doing what he loves to do.

I appreciate all the prayers for Waco's continued healing.

Waco is resting at home now. He will be re-evaluated in a week, but is facing other surgeries to repair the other broken bones in his leg. We now have the medical equipment so we can continue his care at home in the interim. Fortunately, his girlfriend's mom is a licensed RN, so she can give him his daily blood thinner to prevent blood clots which must be continued at home. He had a pretty rough day again yesterday.

On top of everything else, we discovered the woman that ran the stoplight and hit him gave false information at the scene, and her insurance had lapsed in June even though she still showed an insurance card to the police offer and falsified her statement. We found that out yesterday so it was a blow. My son didn't carry medical insurance despite my constant nagging. He did have full coverage on his motorcyle, but had waived the uninsured motorist.

I was holding it together pretty well until yesterday, and don't know what to do now. If any of you have any advice, please p.m. me or email.

Please continue to keep us in your thoughts and prayers to face the challenges to come, and for my son's continued healing.

Frontier, I am very sorry to hear about the insurance and know how you feel..my mom was in a very serious head-on collision and the other driver had no insurance (his fault)....

I sure hope the best for you and for your son. Lots of prayers heading his way.

Terrie, if you havent done so already get your family a good attorney and have the DA bring charges against the driver for not carrying insurance....then consider civil action....on the medical front make sure the blood thinner meds are kept up, blood clots are potentially dangerous, but I am sure you already know that...prayers up for you and your son

Man what a blow. I'm a biker and have had many friends go through the same thing. I can believe so many people get away with not having insurance. It is time to find legal help. Good wishes to your son and family, good luck.

Oh my goodness, that is very rough. I agree with the advice to get an Attorney.

Check your state for Uninsured/Underinsured coverage. Doe's he a vehicle other than the bike? Every state has it's holes for coverage.

Plus if the lady that hit him gave false info the police should be looking for her. That is a hit and run.

He sounds like a strong person. Keeping good thoughts coming his way. Hang in there. What does not kill us makes us stronger.

In some states you can sue the former ins co for "letting" coverage lapse. (happened to us personally but pickup vs minivan) Our uninsured driver ran like he** to a lawyer after the accident and filed bankruptcy...it sucked. Like its been mentioned, get a good lawyer and I wish you luck!

I hope your son continues to recover I would contact a lawyer and look into sueing the other driver for medical bills and damages since they where uninsured.

I was in a accident when I was about 12 years old we where hit by a uninsured driver she backed up while I was getting out of the car at school and the force of the hit drove me under the car we got a lawyer and she ended up paying for the medical I needed to have done to rehibilitate my ankle.

Will be keeping you and your son in my prayers and hope he heals up fully.
