Couple glasses of wine before bed, hit the rack at a decent hour and set the alarm for 5 AM. Plenty of time to get into the blind, just a few minutes down the road and a 10 minute canoe paddle. Wide awake when the alarm goes off, go downstairs to pour a cup and all the kitchen clocks say 6:05!! Hi tech alarm clocks were pre-programmed for day light savings time roll back this weekend, the old schedule!!!

Pretty much how the rest of the morning went, but I did bag a pair of mallards, one with jewelry.

I just reported the band on-line. Said the bird was banded in Quebec in August 2002. I never realized they lived that long. The numbers were worn to almost illegible. Guess I had a pretty good day considering the late start and finding my blind flooded, we had nearly 4 inches of rain yesterday.
