It has been a very long time since I have been on here but I really need ya'lls help. I lost my best friend yesterday morning to what we believe was kidney failure. I have decided that I am going to have her cremated since the ground is to frozen to dig a hole right now and I refuse to just give her to the vet to dispose of she meant way to much to me. I want to have a custom made urn made but I don't know where to look. I would like to get something carved out of wood to look like a pheasant. Anyone ever had anything done or know who to direct me too?

Thanks

Scott,

There are many websites from which you can purchase urns. I have heard good things about HAL Woodworking http://halwoodworking.com/

They do very nice laser work so you could either do a picture of her or a pheasant.

Sorry you lost your girl. Seems like many have left us this past week.

I hope the memories of her keep her close to your heart.

Scott,
Dogs don’t live nearly long enough, damn it.
I always go to our favorite hunting sites and sprinkle a few ashes.
I save the rest. They are to be added to my own interment, sometime down the road.
I plan on spending eternity with all my pals.

Chris,

I do plan on sprinkling some on her favorite places but I would like to keep some. With her being my first true dog and my best friend in the world I feel like I owe it to her to keep her around, its kind of morbid I know but I just can't bear to completely part with her.

Do a search on E Bay, you would be surprised about what you find there. Bud

It's not morbid, it's life. ...or death... :(

What I would have posted already has been. I've got wooden urns for my dogs where you put the picture on the front. Then Joie is in a beautiful, very heavy, laser engraved bronze urn. The laser work is awesome -- you can get your favorite photo done, which is what I would do....

Good thing is that you can take your time and check out your options. There's also jewelry and all kinds of things you can put ashes in...

I'm so sorry you lost your pup.

It is not morbid. We lost 2 dogs this year. Both were cremated. Their ashes are in beautiful cedar boxes provided by the company who cremated them. Some of the ashes will be spread at favorite hunting and training areas. The rest will be saved in their cedar boxes to be with us always.

Dont know you from adam,, but I read your tribute on the other thread.

I'm really sorry for your loss.

If you decide on an Urn that is simple in nature,, I have made several for friends, they are basicall dovetailed boxes with an inset on the top that will sit a small picture or memorial.

Some people have had me engrave a passage or tribute, or the dogs field accomplishments on the front panel.

If you would be interested Theys a free- bee for a good dog.:p

I would however have to pass along any engraving fees you require.

Let me know!!!

I bought a memorial package for my husband when his GSP passed away last year in an accident. http://www.thedepartingshot.com/ They were very professional and courteous. The product is top of the line. My husband and his friends are planning a memorial salute to Ben in the future. We will always have the remaining memorial shells in a beautiful crafted wooden box.

So sorry for your losses......
