I am pretty much a lurker here on the forum, but I met someone through business yesterday who has a dog missing from the Huntsville, TX area. I hoping that some RTF folks can keep an eye out. If this doesn't belong in this forum or belongs in another category, my apologies.

As I understand it, the owners were in the Huntsville with their two dogs, a boxer and a visla, when they were startled by gun shot and ran. The boxer was recovered, but the visla wasn't found. They were in the Huntsville area for a day of recreation and had to return to Houston. They have listed the dog as missing via their microchip tracking and looked for a long as they could. The owner has to travel for their work so they cannot return to the sight to search.

The particulars are:

call name Hank
Male visla, 9 yrs old, 60 lbs, brown leather collar

distinguishing features: red coat, graying muzzle and fully ablated after neuter, small scar on ear

last location seen Rosenwall Road, Huntsville, TX

Dog is friendly to people

If you see a dog matching this discription please contact:
Alicia Russell, Chuck Russell - 713-443-9433, 832-654-9468

I do not know these folks personally (a business acquaintance) but they are obviously upset and praying for a miracle. Thanks for any eyes in the area that will keep a look out for this dog.

I'd put an ad on craig's list.... call all the shelters, make out a police report.

Check with the mailman also. Mailmen know every dog on their routes.

Check with children playing in the area. They know the dogs that belong to families and friends.

I've got friends on the OSR near Midway. Probably too far but I'll tell them.

I have passed this along to some relatives I have just outside of Huntsville so they can spread the word and keep there eyes and ears open.

Just an update . . . Hank has been found!!! 15 miles from where he was last seen. Wondered up to a nice farmer and he took the trouble to contact the owners from the tags on his collar. A bit skinnier and tired, but home safe.

Thanks everybody for your efforts and prayers. I know some owners are pretty happy!

THAT is great news :) ....now, will hope that Pup Pup.... (net/forums/showthread.php?t=49603) .......makes a physical connection with his new found people...that want to save him and this will be a particularly good day!
