Your right

Just read the regs, you learn somthing new every day.
Hope so... since I enforce the Fish and Wildlife laws!

However something that is different in Oregons season vs other seasons in the midwest is that we must still use plugged shotguns, no electronic devices, and no mechanical decoys.

This season was set up to help alleviate damage to private grounds. The snows, Ross, and white-fronts stage here in the spring, fatten up for the last long push to the breeding grounds. The white-front pop is waaaay over flyway management objectives. Two birds aint gettin it. However there is a sub-pop of white-fronts called Tule geese that are not doing so well. The two bird limit provides some harassment while yet minimizing the possibility of thwackin the Tule birds.

Another post asked if the birds were here. A storm came in yesterday in force and it seemed as though it brought some birds with it. I would not call this place red hot... but luke warm and beginning to heat up. I will be going in about an hour. The storm also brought snow, but just enough to be annoying. I will try for the 2 specks and if a white bird flies over... well stuff happens.

The weather is looking pretty good next week, but the only problem

is no snow geese. My son & I had a 1000 or so in the field SE of Town the last w/e

of Canada season , but that was it. You might check with whoever your

hunting with. We just got 8 in. of snow last w/e. Hope this helps.

I've heard reports that they are moving up from the SE and decent numbers are being taken. How far are you from Squaw?

We will be invading your town. We're staying at the Motel 6 and will be visiting the local night time establishments look me up when we get there. 3/3-3/7 If you see a bunch of Ohio plates look for the shortest guy in the bunch that would be me.
Any suggestions on good steak houses? I heard the horn and hoof or something like that is great.

The Hoof & Horn is a great place to eat. You might need reservations, with 38

people. Around Motel 6 there 7 places (within 100 yards) you can eat Red Lobster,

Perkin's, Applebee's, Whiskey Creek, Carlos O'Kellys, Cracker Barrel & Ban-dana's (BBQ).

Squaw Creek has 8 in. of ice on it.

Just got back from Arkansas and Missouri. I love to hate the white goose. They can humble any man and often do. Killed a neck collar and another banded bird in the last week. The geese are behind about two weeks they are stacked on the snow line.

We are headed out this weekend or early in the week, we have the week off to hunt western Iowa. If anyone is out that way give us a shout and we can team up on the scouting!

Went scouting this weekend for snows found them in northern missouri. squaw valley, mound city, and chilicotte. Alot of the areas are flooded and hard to get too due to snow melting. Ended up going mud bogging in the suburban.

We finished out nicely for the tough hunting it was. Our days were the 4,5,and 6th Nice shoot on Friday for our group. We ended up with 300 birds for our large group.
