So my pup is almost 8 months old now, and she just started to pee in the house this past week! We've always let her out the side of the house and there has always been snow on the ground.
It's like she's confused because there is no more snow on the ground. We have resorted to puppy mode, constantly monitoring her, restricting access to the rooms in the house and letting her out regularly. She goes outside and just sniffs around. We could let her out 3 times in a short period time, repeating the command 'hurry up' and she wouldn't pee! Then in the house right in front of us she would pee.
She's always whined or rang the bells, but not anymore. She would do either excessively and we would know it was fake and out of boredom and ignore her sometimes. Maybe she just doesn't know how to tell us she needs to go!
She also doesn't pee in the back yard. We could be out there for and hour, and I'd have to bring her back through the house and out the side yard for her to pee! Maybe she's just super picky where she pees?
It shouldn't be a bladder issue because it's not excessive. I'm just not sure what to do.
I'm on my last straw. I was planning out my morning and getting everything ready, I took out my running shoes and laid them on the floor in the porch. Then I let the dogs out for like 5 minutes in the front yard while I loaded the truck, we all came back in and I looked over and she squatted LITERALLY on top of my running shoe! There was a puddle inside!
I don't know what to do.
