I recently bought back a 7 month old blm that I sold as a 8 week old pup. The dog has a ton of go but had no training except is house broke and toys thrown for it. It goes crazy for bumpers but I took a wing clipped pidgeon and he wanted to bark at it and lay down beside it. Then a few days later I got him reved up and through a mallard for him and he runs out to it and wants to roll on it. I did get him to retrieve the duck from water but the next day on land he wanted to roll on it again. Just wandering how to proceed from here?

a duck chase in a pond is always fun and does good stuff. they will pick up in water more better than on land.

Get on a program and start from the beginning.
Force fetch should cure the mouth habits and associated behaviors.

You are right I saw that this weekend more ob and ducks in the water till after force fetch.
