My 5 month old pup went to the vet today and we were told his rash on his belly is a bacterial skin infection and given Cephalexin. This is his third time to have this since we brought him home. What could be causing this? I clean his kennels out every week since the first time this happened, just can't figure out where this is coming from. Will he out grow this problem?

I recently went thru a bout of this with my pup? What did you find? If you dont mind sharing......LOL My pups has gotten much better after the antibiotics, but there are still a few spots.

Very common with all the heat and humidity. I just wash their bellies with an antibacterial shampoo and dry off well. Rinse them off when they come out of the ponds, too....

Several theories, on what activates staph. Different triggers, with different dogs. My vet said it can be anything from stress, to pecan trees blooming.
What info did you find out?
What are you feeding?
Could the scratching be from a food allergy or maybe fleas?
I also would be adding K9 Show Stopper supplement to your pups food. Helps to build a strong immune system also.
