I'm looking for a pretty special trainer. Someone who is accomplished in HRC, NAVHDA AND Master Hunter pointing dog games. This may be a tall order so that's why I'm posting on here. I don't know of any that fit this bill.

Some of yall may have read the posts about Ernie (AKA Hit Man) the GSP and his progress (http://www.retrievertraining.net/forums/showthread.php?t=50124). Well I know this is a "retriever" training forum and let me assure you this dog is a DEMON retriever that can play with the best of them.

We have not let him see his reflection since he as whelped and we've kept him with Labradors his whole life :). The only hint that he's an upland dog is the glimmer in his eye and wiggle in his nubby little tail when he sees a meadowlark flush in a 100 acre grass field. Oh and the other hint is everytime I let him out to air in my training grounds he ends up pointing a covey of quail!!

Ernie's owner entrusted me to do some early work with him and just test the waters on his level of capability. I have done that and I am SUPER impressed with what I see. A TON of retrieving desire, marks the eyes out of it, LOVES the water (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KSt7ncCOdaA ) and is an unbelievable team player. He is doing 150 yard 5 leg pattern blinds with relatively few corrections and frequently front foots 200 yard marks. His greatest attribute for me is his willingness to learn and eagerness to please. I've seen no other dog with more of that than the Hit Man.

GTRMANs goals are to title Ernie as HRCH, Versatile Champion and MH pointing dog. He would be the ONLY GSP to ever attain all three titles. That's a very tall order. Anyone up to the challenge???

Lil speedboat in the water isn't he ;-)

See if you can locate George Wilson.
He had Labs for many years (Misty Morning), and later trained and ran a National Champion Pointer.
He use to live here in Ogden, and I believe he is now in Montana.

Thanks. I believe his owner has posted on the Versatile dogs site and they told him they all train their own dogs :) Good for them.

GTRMAN doesn't have the time to train or expertise a dog of this caliber, but will enjoy hunting over him FREQUENTLY.
