getting started trying to buy some stuff. what brand do you guys use ? and i was thinking 2 dozen maybe 3 ? and also where is the cheapest place to buy them in that quantity ? and how many each color ? sorry for the barrage of questions

Most of mine are Lucky Dog but check Dogs Afield (banner at the top of the page) and elsewhere online for good deals. Some dogs aren't thrilled with the Avery hexa bumpers, especially in the winter when they are VERY hard. Most of mine that I use for marks are black and white. I do have a dozen or so all black for when the white stuff is on the ground. And some small, all white for pile work.

I use gundogsupply.com best stuff for the best price. They have the lucky dog bumpers for 3.70 each which is the cheapest out there. Also right now they have a deal going if you buy six you get the seventh free. I work with mostly black/white bumpers and have a few orange for blinds since dogs sight is mostly in the black and white spectrum so orange basically shows up as gray. This way they have to be handled to it instead of keying in on it 10 yards away and making a b line for it becasue of sight instead of your casts. Best of Luck

Rick- Lucky Dog (aka SportDog) is discontinueing the black bumpers. They also just had a price increase March 1.

I've had mine for years, they are tough, a good weight/texture and hold up forever apparently as they have outlasted all the plastic bumpers I've gotten. I like them better than any other I've tried.

Anyone bought Neuman & Bennet lately?
I bought a dozen about a year ago and about half of them are soft and pliable and the others are like bricks. Two of them have cracked from normal use. GDS told me they have change the material and I had some of the old and some of the new. N&B said that was not true. N&B said suppliers are getting fakes made in China.

The soft N&B bumpers are the best I've owned and the hard N&Bs are the worst I've owned.

Has anyone else experienced problems.

I have some Hallmark, EZ-Rotational, Dokken, and Lucky Dog bumpers. The Hallmark seem to be the best quality. EZ-Rotational is a very close second, and a much better price, but I can't seem to find them anywhere anymore. The Luck dogs are still holding up, but just don't quite seem to be the same quality. The Dokken bumpers are too soft (squishy) and sometimes seem to be deflated, but for the price I paid for them, they have been worth it when bulk bumpers are required.

I get the economy bumper from Lion Country Supply. They are pretty hard , with NO valves. Not as hard as some I have seen though.

I recommend to my clients to get them from Neumann and Bennetts, website is www.decoy1.com You can buy 2nds for 3.50 check the shipping cost prior to purchase. They used to give discounts based on qty so it was always good to combine orders with friends, not sure they do it anymore.

I called them recently. The shipping from west to east was high. Like $30. They recommended getting them from someone in the east. which I did. The firsts with less shipping were cheaper than shipping seconds east.
