I have heard a few people mention that they have used ear tattoos to identify pups in litters. I just wanted to know who here has tried this and what was your experience with this, and how old should they be before you do the tattoo.
Well, the good thing is that you both posted the same answers!!This is what happens when you have two computers and don't tell the other mate that you are posting the same answer. (Hell to get old for both of us, but at least we think alike even after being married to each other for 57 years.) Cleo is my FIRST wife! Bill
Ain't nothin fool or idiot proof and stuff happens but you did get your dog back.I purchsed a pup years and years ago. The people that stole him trimmed his ear to get the tattoo out. He was able to be identified by another marking so we got him back.
I watched the breeder tatto him, it did look very painful
My friend's dog was stolen and the thief changed the owner info on the chip. Unfortunately, tattoos and chips can't stop a dog from being stolen. However, anything that increases the chance of recovery, more is betterI purchsed a pup years and years ago. The people that stole him trimmed his ear to get the tattoo out.
