A long life lived & loved I am sure. Sorry for your loss. There are only flyers over the bridge.

Though your tears and pain are difficult to take, 14 wonderful years of love and memories will always fill your heart. Both of you were better for knowing and loving the other.

Godspeed Dance, you will be missed.

With Complete Understanding and Sincere Sympathy,
Earlene

Oh Flip, I'm sorry to hear that. I hope mine all live to 14+.
Take care.

So sorry to hear you lost Dance, John. My condolences to you and your family; that is a lot of shared history to let go of. I really liked him and what he threw; he was cocky, exceptionally sound, honest and so are his get. He was also a pretty darn good producer for the limited times he was bred, with 3 master hunters from 3 different females.

I feel very fortunate to have owned two of his offspring, and in fact I still have the one you met, Usher. I've sold him 3 times but like a bad penny he keeps turning back up here so I decided to keep him. The female, Sterling, earned her HRCH/MH. Vickie Lamb has a littermate, one's in France, and one is in Canada. In fact at the moment I have a dozen Dance grandkids, two nice young females (one by Usher, one out of Sterling) and 10 pups born last month that are almost 5 weeks:

Usher, despite his checkered past which included abusive training, no training, pheasant hunting, internet training and lots of hunting, has turned out really well and Randy did such a good job on his early training he's still one of the best trained dogs I've had. He's handsome, too.

Dance granddaughter/Usher daughter Panda (Hope Springs Double Puff**) can mark and might be my best CBR; she got a JAM up at Del Bay derby last year and is doing really well right now despite a late start. This is her at 17 mos. on her first hunt with her first goose:

My other Dance granddaughter (shown below) is a 2 y.o. sold as a pup out of Sterling that I bought back last year. She looks a lot like Dance. She'll be up in Del. at some dog shows in 2 weeks, you should go see her, and see if she isn't the spitting image of Grandpa Dance.. Dance was not only a good dog, he had a lot of qualities that are hard to find: 'tude, prey drive, stamina, soundness and longevity. He'll certainly live on in my breeding program.

Although 14 is a heck of a good run, still hard to see the run end. Lots of history. Lots of memories. Lot of life gone by. Sorry for your loss, Flip.
How true. May the hole in your heart soon be filled only with pleasant memories. My condolences. Dancer's long life is a testiment to the love and care you gave him.

He sounds like a wonderful dog who was given a chance to show what he could do. 14 years is a good, long life, but after that long with a dog you tend to think they'll be with you forever. It's gut wrenching to have to let them go.

I hope the memories keep him with you always.

Sorry for your loss.

I'm sorry to hear the sad news. I hope the day comes quickly that the tears are replaced with a smile when you think of Dance.

Sorry for your loss John. From what others are writing sounds like he was a special guy.
