What brand or kind of gloves are good with working with your check cord? I'm using leather work gloves and they are not getting it.

Go to a tack shop and buy a pair of the gloves that calf ropers use...excellent for your purpose and will save you from some rope burns.....

I wear leather gloves a lot for all sorts of things including tower shoots. I usually buy the smallest size I can jam my hands in and let them stretch out. Just about any soft deerskin glove will do for your needs, and will keep your hands from getting torn up.

I outfit Fire Departments and Rescue Teams and I'd suggest the PMI brand of rope glove. They also have tactical versions which are available in black.
