I have 6, but that's because on the really long guns where I have a winger or on a short mark I want to make very, very tempting I'll put two. Normally on what I think is the money bird, my husband will hand throw. You can't replace a live bird boy!

But 3-4 should be enough. And I would recommend Butch Green's stickmen, I have yet to see Lou's Magee's (sp?) first hand.

Edit: I also use 4-5 for drills (marking singles off multiple guns mostly)

Lainee, it's Lou Magee.

Lou's stickmen are a bit heavier than BG's. Either will do a good job.

I use BG's, but we used a training partner's Magee stickman the other day and I have to say I was VERY impressed.
