So you all probably know that I live in the boonies, and that I'm the only one merely interested in retriever training. Well I was at a BBQ and found out that my friend's, friend's, sister's husband has a trained hunting dog, who was sent off for training and everything! Apparently they go out hunting all the time and are pretty serious about it. AND... There was also a local add in the classifieds asking for birds to help train their dog!!!
Turns out I'm not alone!
So I was thinking about somehow starting up a retriever club, and I was looking for some pointers. I was thinking of the following steps;

News Paper ad
Email Address
Posters at the hunting stores, pet stores, vets office and local websites.
I might be able to start a website, but I'd have to get help from work to make it word press or something easy to maintain.
I'm a little shy because I'm new to the whole scene, and for me to be running a club might seem silly, but hopefully I'll just learn more from it.
What should I call it?
Yellowknife Retriever Club?
Yellowknife Retrievers?
YK Retrievers? (This is nice and short for the email and site)
