Any idea where that Jamacian sled dog team is in the standing?

They had a team of Husky/GSP crosses I believe...
Newton Marshal, currently in 30th place. Out of Ophir and headed to Iditarod.

Say Bubba- i've know the Seavely's for a long time-*( not real well) sorry to here about Mitch- I've been away hunting snow geese and not had a chance to follow the race-I'll catch up today- I gottaay I like old Rick Swenson- gotta be longest running guy and so far only 5 time winner-I like lance also and all the other guy i knew years ago and raced with or against. just looked standings over- some new faces up front-Buser and mackey look oK except that Lance is down to 9 dogs-ah well it keeps interest high to see new faces in front geoup.
Just checked standings again- kind of funny to see kids and even grand kids of folks I used to know and race against--Good friend Bill Arpino in Tok has a belt buckle from the First race- now that's a belt owned by very few elite folks- the race has sure coma a long way from 73.

Thats awesome, Dallas called at his 24 and said he is very confident in where he is at and his team is looking awesome. Said he is still riding the brakes really hard and is waiting to really open up and race towards the end like he did in the quest. Unfortunatly I know lance has been hit pretty hard with kennel cough but is doing well regardless. Buser has started dropping back a bit. He was looking strong early when they had fast packed trails. Sounds like the trail has slowed down a bit and gotten much softer and looks as if Buser is suffering. He is posting some pretty slow run times. This is one of the closest races in recent memory though as far as having 10-12 mushers this late in the race that all have a legitimate shot at winning. I am pretty excited to see how it turns out. That being said I think I'd want to be in Jon Bakers shoes at this point. I would love for him to win though, he deserves it.

There was a very interesting article on sled dogs in an outdoors magazine I get about how they have a special enzyme(I think) that when pushed to the maximum of exercise and stress, they have an incredible ability to rebuild/restore muscle and oxygen much quicker than regular animals. The gov't is now looking into this for our troops. Has anyone heard of this? If you are interested I can try and find the article on the internet to post.
