I'm sure this has been asked here before, but can a bitch nursing 3 week old puppies be given liquid ivermec. She is due and i'm wondering if i should wait till she weans them.

I was just reading and wanted to clarify that when I say "i do" I mean I do NOT give them meds when they're pregnant/raising/weaning the pups.

Two vets I use/used said okay to give the heartworm preventative (but I only use oral) to nursing bitches, but I don't put flea/tick stuff on them and I'd hesitate to put a topical preventative anything on mom while pups are crawling around/on her.
