I will be in the market for a lab puppy next year. I would love to get another Jazztime pup. Does anybody know if there will be any future breedings from Skatch or Trip?

Also would you recommend a AFC/ FC stud or kennel in the northwest. I flew my last pup and have heard it is really tough now. So I would like to stay in the northwest. I am retiring and might do hunt tests, but will want another quality gun dog.

Thanks

Id reach out to Jason Heffelmier. I got a pup out of Trip about 19 months ago. She is amazing and he is a huge fan/breeder of the Jazztime line.
I did see some of his Jazztime litters, contender labs in Iowa I believe. I will be calling him. I think we could get a direct flight from Des Moines to Spokane Wa and I could drive over there. Glad your pup is doing great. Thanks for the reply.

There was one straw left, but I think it was discarded. I'll ask one who knows on Christmas Eve when I see her for dinner.
Thanks. Stryder sure has an impressive record and pedigree. I was thinking his pups probably go to more competitive homes than mine. I don’t know if a maybe hunt tester, gun dog guy would qualify. Thanks again.

I believe there are a few litters recently out of FC Tiger Mtn's Bettin' On Black in the PNW who was a FC Finalist in 2019. Some of them have some Jazztime lines further back. There is also a litter out of Rattlinridge Jazz Explosion MH who has Jazztime and Yellowstone's TNT Explosion in him. Just for some options in case you are still looking.

I am a year out. It is funny you kind of read my mind because gamble and I think a litter mate ghost really caught my eye. I do hunt a bunch of uplands and want to hunt more so the pointing labs really intrigued me. I guess that is why I love the Jazztime labs. My Jazztime boy doesn’t point and that’s fine but he stays close and is easy to read his tail when he is on birds. After today I wish I could clone him. Here he is after 14 ducks and 8 geese in the worst mud you have ever seen. 😀😀

Haha looks about like my girl most evenings. And I'm sure there are other breeders out there with good lines, but I believe both Rattlin Ridge retrievers and Wind River Labs have bloodlines that have Jazztime in them and are both located in Washington. You may have to do a bit of digging to see which ones though. Both of them breed for hunting dogs as well as compete with their dogs in hunt tests. Just trying to give you options to look into :)

Gamble and Ghost, sister Lola are out of Shaq and Bubba on the bottom. I trained with Mike and I have a Kid and Lola son. I have seen pups out of both and were pretty nice. If you have ant questions PM me.FYI Hunt tests are not a competition.

Shouldn't be overly hard to find a Jazztime offspring in that area. I'm thinking when I was in Washington running HRC test there were 3-4 in the Upperstakes; also at the AKC test Butte MT. A few out of Skatch, 1 for sure out of Trip, a couple out of other Jazztime dogs. They probably don't have the Jazztime name but they are out there. I have a Jazztime Bitch out of Skatch and her bother is in MT, runs in Washington HRCH MH "Montana's law dog?"; I think his owner actually has a couple of Jazztime males. The Terry and Lori Scott the Breeder of Jazztimes cut to the Chase are still in Helena, they've a couple of Jazztime males

Thanks for the response Jeff, you have always given me great information. I appreciate it. I am in Hamilton MT and know you are up by Ronan. I am retiring soon I want to spend time hunting in the nine pipes area. I haven’t done that since the 70s

I also saw a kennel from Ronan area called Sky High Retreivers that I might reach out to. It’s funny how I always tell people the last concern you should have with a pup is color. My wife really wants a yellow so I saw they had Floyd pups for sale. My wife is the best and keeps the labs in shape with her jogging. so she has a say. 😀

I know hunt tests are not a competition. My point on Styrder was his pups probably will go to completion homes AKA field trials and not to a guy like me who might do hunt tests non competetive. I was lucky the gal I trained with my pup had a master hunter she trained with. So my Max always did some tough stuff at a young age, she was not happy I didn’t do hunt tests. She had him at a master level pretty young. Please PM me any info that you think I might need. For me if I get a AFC/ FC x master hunter QAA pup they will do me fine. I really want healthy and family dog also. I have two grand daughters that are almost two. 😀
