Jerry had surgery at 0330Pm this afternoon. Surgery was roughly 3 hrs.
They were able to remove 97% of the tumor that they attribute to the the jaw cancer. He is in ICU for recovery and is doing well.
He will have to undergo Chemo in a few weeks to to help treat the cancer.
Jimmy sez he's was nothing but orinery in the hospital because surgery was delayed , he was hungry, and wanted some coffee.......:)
Anyways Jimmy warned the doctor that he'll be lookin' for the coffee pot in the morning and the doctor's concern was he wouldn't be lookin' for the EXIT...
Anyways all is well, UIM should go home on Sunday, unless he makes a break................;)
I'll be in touch with Jimmy tomorrow and update accordingly.
Thanks for the prayers........he is a special guy..........and a great friend.

Knowin' this old ornery Texan, his arse will be booted out soon.........

All recipes are safe................in that brain of his...........:D

I really understand where he is coming from. Hospitals are not much fun. When I had my surgery, they would not let me have anything by mouth(not even water) for 10 days. Each day they got me up to walk around the floor, and each walk took me around a balcony 3 floors up from a vendor baking fresh chocolate chip and peanutbutter cookies. Smelling that without being able to eat was pure torture.

Best Wishes Jerry!!

Thanks for the update. I was wondering what was up.

Thanks for the update, Dan.

Continued prayers for Jerry's speedy recovery, and to his family.

Thanks for posting, Dan. All in all that sounds pretty positive, but the prayers are still coming.

Andy
