As far as I know Ken can and will still post on here. Like I said I really don't need another place to waste time as the wife sees it.
I think he was booted off twice... then reactivated. He can still post on here, as long as he does so within the boundaries set by Chris.

I just see it as he didn't like the rules of this playground and instead of continuing to voliate them regularly, he built his own across town.

More specifically in Gut's case, he feels like he got a big splinter going down the slide and he wants to run around telling all the other kids how much the slide company sucks! HAHAHAHAHAHA

Who wants to listen to a kid with a splinter in his ass anyways... be glad he's gone! :D

Ken's software is really fast. It would be nice if EE took note!

Yeah... cuz they are the same.

EE is a very efficient web application, considering the size of our database and the amount of security and encryption involved.

If it's still to slow for you, mailing your entries via USPS, waiting to get your numbers the day the trial starts, and waiting for RFTN for results is always an option.

Would the size of the database go down appreciably if you provided a means to remove events from "My Events"? Heaven knows I don't need the results of events 2 years ago nor do most others.

Eric
:D Like we've never heard that before! LOL We tried to tackle that 2-3 times over the last year and the first time discovered it was going to require more db/code changes than we anticipated going into it. So it kept getting put on the back burner behind critical and quick fix enhancements.

It won't decrease the size of the db but will decrease the amount of data you have to display on that page.

It's definitely a priority for us, but not one we can afford to hurry with. Ultimately, i'm very thankful we have so many people to complain about having 2 years worth of history to look at. Thanks for your patience.

The database server is seldom the source of performance issues on web apps. To make judgments, one would need to review the source code and evaluate both the overall data model and the relative use of in-line SQL (hopefully none) versus stored procedures. With SQL Server, it's also important to make sure that the app avoid using dynamic SQL elements in a manner that would prevent the effective compilation of queries. Personally, I haven't noticed any performance problems with EE. However, the HTML layouts are complex and performance could be negatively affected on PC's with slower processors or insufficient memory. The technology supporting EE is infinitely more complex and more robust than that used for vBulletin.

Just stirring the pot....
Right on Yardley!

It's clean, sleak, normalized the way it should be, and all queried data is called with sprocs. a few hundred different sprocs last time i counted.

From the tone of your answer, possibly EE needs some COMPETITION!!!

What part of my answer didn't you like? You might need to check your tone - in nearly everything you write. We work hard, long, and for so little profit you'd think we are nuts, JUST to make your life easier. If you have a problem with our system, email support@entryexpress.net and we'll see if we can't figure out why it's slow for you. If you have a problem with our existance in general, feel free not to use it. It is voluntary.

Either way, if you have a problem... your negative comment was unsolicited, uncalled for, and has no place in this thread.
