Ok, got a little problem. My BLM who is a HR and just started running finished. He's got a great off/on switch so he real calm in the house and fires up for training. He is excited when we show up from work though. I've got a 20 month old kid that just loves this dog. He throws bumpers and blows my whistle and duck call because he sees me do it. He can crawl over, hug, and take food from the dog so there's no problem there.
Here's the issue, sometimes when we first get home or when the dog sees a bumper he gets excited and a couple of times now he's accidentally knocked my kid over. I want to know how to correct this behavior. I think it's unacceptable for him to do this. I think basically the dog isn't paying enough attention and bumps my kid and he falls down. I don't want to correct the dog incorrectly and him to associate it with the kid.
So what do you all think?
