I've been interested in breeding my female to Chad Baker's dog Trav (Paddle Creek's Pack Your Grip) for quite some time. Now that the pups from several of his breedings are getting older, I am hoping to get some feedback on how his offspring are looking. Taking into consideration that the bitch line is half (some would argue more) of the equation, I'm curious if there are any traits in particular that seem to occur consistently and could possibly be attributed to Trav.

I have seen a few of his pups run derbies, and they had a lot of heart and were very good markers - watching them definitely made an impression. I have spoken to Chad, and he gave me some great information, but I'm interested in pulling information from other places as well. Thanks in advance for your feedback - pm me if you would like to.

Not a field trial runner here, but I have a Trav pup and love it. I run HRC Hunt Tests. Went 2 for 2 on seasoned test in October. I do not run many tests because of time and family obligations, but when I do she is dialed in. She will be 2 in february, so mine is still young as well.

I am training the dog myself and we are learning together. Does not pout when the boneheaded trainer screws up. Probably would be a lot further along, but I am taking my time and learning for myself then trying to train her when she is not training me (she makes me look like a good trainer).

Great marking dog. Take handling very well on blinds. Full of fire and will run all day long if you let her.

Temperament is awesome. Great off switch. I keep my dogs in the house. She is calm and does not mind my kids at all. Lays on the floor and lets my 10 month baby girl crawl on her.

I know you mentioned there are 2 sides of the breeding, so click on Pearl in my signature. That links to the bloodlines on both sides.

Thanks for the info Joey. All of our dogs are house dogs as well. We usually keep 1 or 2 puppies from each litter, so we definitely appreciate a dog that can relax when at home - had a few of those that have trouble turning it off inside, and it's not particularly fun. Also like for them to be amateur friendly like yours is. Sounds like you got a good one with Pearl - thanks for your post!

I have a Grady Bitch and have competed against a couple Travler pups in the derby, nice pup. I have followed a couple of those pups, they qualed out pretty early.

Good markers, lots of drive , lots of style. small in size and the pups that I have seen appear more fox red.

My Grady pup although off the hook in the field falls into coma in the house.

Good luck with your breeding.
