This is hypothetical some... What is the normal training time for advanced work start to finish? Talking learning running blinds, casting, force to pile, T drills, all this stuff?

From sitting on a whistle and 5 yards left right backs, all the way to a dog knowing how to run a blind... JR hunter learning blinds to run SR hunter test...

Not counting EXPERIENCE running blinds nailing it master hunter pass like it aint no thang, no problem...

What you describe is essentially called The Basics and might take 6 months to who knows. Once basics are solid Then the intermediate and Advanced work starts and this may be another year or two. Then you have life long maintenance training....

I would think most pros and dedicated amateurs try for at least 2 sessions/dog/day. This; of course, will depend on what's being worked on and time involved.

Just saying, not arguing.

The problem with threads like this is that it gives people a false sense of either success (my dog did this before his 'x' bday) or failure (my dog must not be a good dog because he isnt running double marks as a 5 month old)... Makes some (newbies mostly - but I have seen long time ams be affected by this mentality) believe things 'should' be on a set schedule. It is not the time it takes but making sure progression and advancement thru training is linear and the foundation is solid.

As Polmaise would say - it isn't about getting the dummy, it's about how you get the dummy.
