I remember this date quite well the Dow Jones Industrial average fell 650 points on this day, but not for financial loss. I was guiding a pheasant hunt in South Dakota for a reward system for clients of Merits. The hunt was held for clients using their reward system for sales. After a rewarding weekend hunt that Monday morning was noted on the news of stock dropping and many of the hunters their brokers or made arrangements to fly out of Souix Falls. Needless to say many of these VP of sales didn't enjoy the mornings hunt. I was in ignorant bliss since all the guys that went home departed with their possession limits. It was up to us, that stayed behind, to make sure that all left at the end of the week with our possession limits.
I had Sunny and the dog in my avatar to hunt with. Sunny was a big yellow that had been a very good derby dog. I think the hunting might have hurt his future in field trials. He had amateur Jams, but he would quarter the field for nine guys covering the entire width.
Shenanigans, in the avatar, would get on the trail of a bird until flushed or retrieved. I used her for guiding at Wild Wings where we taught her not to catch the birds or Whoa as pointing dogs do.
