Crating is the best option if possible. This is sort of a common issue in some lines of pointing breeds since they are bred to run endurance. Thankfully I have only had 3 that were real trouble so far. Sometimes a bark collar helps. If they bounce off the kennel or bark while pacing this can help. The collar should be one that can be set at a certain level and be on the lowest level that gets their attention because they will get quite a bit of correction for the first few days. Sometimes they just learn to pace quietly (have a lab right now that is this) but they use a little less energy doing that so it helps some. Also I stagger the dog house, water bowl and some other things in the kennel to slow them down and make them weave. They still walk and pace but more slowly and less so. Invest in a roading rig, and have them pull for 30minutes a day at least 4 days a week. This helps take the go drive down a notch and is way more effective than free running. This is for mature dogs only, not puppies. Good luck - these are "hard keepers" and they are frustrating in the off time. Usually they are very very good at their field work though. So remind yourself of that to help you stay sane :)
