very nice keith!! You do the work yourself?
One of my clients (as well as a co-owner of a couple of dogs with me) is a heavy equipment operator...these are actually his ponds. All of the dirt areas are what he did this weekend with a track hoe and dozer...by himself. Five new points on the upper side, one big point on the near side, and a few new mounds.

very nice. did you make them just for training or fishing and hunting too?
The ponds are full of fish...nice Bass, Specks, and Bream. The right side (standing timber) actually goes well into the timber and is full of Woodies.

Running the first marks tomorrow!

What happened to all the lily pads on the small side?
The dam has been raised and the water level as well resulting in most of the vegetation being covered. There are lots of pads still...just out of site in this picture.

Keith Farmer, owner of Trembling Earth Kennels http://www.tremblinearth.com/ , has some of the best training grounds you can imagine. The pond that you are seeing in the posts is certainly a cornerstone, but they have numerous other water training areas that provide specific training opportunities. The land set ups are equally impressive as well. If you are a northern dog owner and are looking for a quality "warmer winter climate" / training environment consider a trip down to meet Keith. You will not meet a better person, and one heck of a good 'Dawg trainer!

Keith,

I'm up for adoption!! :D

Pond Envy Regards,

It's very hard to tell if this will be a good training pond or not. I need the ability to walk around it and see the concepts that are there.
I figure a week of training there would be about right to determine if the pond will be a good training pond or not.
Perhaps, mid February, Keith? :D

Sure...just make sure you bring a Show'nuff Dawg with you. I ran 17 today and every one of them got thoroughly tested somewhere.

By the way, Mike was back on the dozer this afternoon setting up some other mounds and smoothing out some areas.

The land set ups are equally impressive as well.
Waiting on the hay field to be cut for the final time then we have 150 round bales at our disposal to move in to the field for winter usage.

I can tell you those ponds are nice and look even better than when I was up last. Keep it up

That's a fine piece of real estate, Keith. Always great to have water eh? Makes for far easier 'concept' training. Like Lainee, I'm envious.
