My pup is currently on Frontline Plus and my vet just gave me a free sample of Interceptor as the dewormer. I am new to all of this, so I have a couple of questions. What are you thoughts on the above products? Is there something else I should consider? Also I know there are places that you can get the products online and was thinking about purchasing online instead of the vet, but wanted to get thoughts on that as well. I have not even compared pricing yet, so if it is close or only a couple of bucks more, I will just get through vet.

I highly recommend VetMedDirect. Good prices, prompt customer service and very informed people. I order from their catalog but they do have a website.

For example: Frontline Plus for a dog 11-22lbs their price is $33.40 for a 3 month supply.

Interceptor is by Rx only. If your vet is open to giving you a perscription to mail in they will fill it.

The catalog is an encyclopedia of info. For instance they have a Vaccines comparison chart that covers 9 different mfg's and 17 different vaccines. Very informative.

I was just reading through my packet on Interceptor and did not notice a guarantee againdt worms like I saw with Heartgard. Does anyone know if Interceptor has a guarantee?
not sure on the interceptor but if using Heartgard contact Merial (makers) before buying on line they usually won't cover your dogs treatment if they get heartworms unless bought through the vet the company selling product online usually will give the guarantee if they offer it.

Just checked with Interceptor and they offer the same type of guarantee.

I've had good luck with Allivet. They have an online form for prescriptions where they will contact your vet for the Rx.
