My female came into heat on Feb. 1st. Her "flow" is still dark pink. I would have expected it to be "straw" colored by now the 10th day of her heat cycle. I have been waiting for this color before leaving them together for an extended period of time. I have the stud here on my property and have introduced them. He is very interested but will not even attempt to mount her. He only continues to lick, sniff, follow. He is not very interested and loses any interest quickly. Does he just know it's not time yet or what?
I have another intact rescued lab on our property (found him a few weeks ago which is why he's still intact) who is very aggressive and very eager to approach my female. He of course will not get the call to play ball.
What can I do to help my stud? Will his behavior change later in her cycle?
Thanks
